To verify that the correct printer driver is being used
When the Datamax MK III printer is installed, Windows may assign it the wrong printer driver, causing SendPro to be unable to print. Follow these steps to ensure that the correct driver is being used:
  1. View your printers:
    • Windows 8 or above: Right-click on the Windows Start icon and select Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    • Windows Vista or 7: Select the Windows Start icon > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click on the Datamax MK III printer and select Printer Properties.
  3. In the Printer Properties, select the Advanced tab and look at the Driver menu:
    • If the driver is Datamax MK III, the correct driver is being used. The installation is complete.
    • If the driver is not Datamax MK III, select Datamax MK III from the Driver menu. If Datamax MK III is not listed in the menu, this means that the printer driver for the Datamax printer has not been installed. Install the driver as explained above.

Pitney Bowes Office Systems has rolled out the DL270, a 25 page-per-minute multi-function copier, printer, fax and scanner that's Mac compatible (though there seem to be no Mac OS X drivers). Available now, the plug-n-play device, which is designed for network installation, starts at US$5,300.

The device lowers overall printing costs while offering a 24 percent price reduction from the previous digital model it replaces, according to Nathaniel Gifford, vice president of product development and marketing, Pitney Bowes Office Systems.

'We accomplish this by reducing the number of devices, migrating output to the lower cost per print device and creating electronic versions of hard copy documents wherever possible,' he said in a statement. 'The DL270 represents our latest generation of digital products which is responsive to customer requirements and utilizes high speed scanning, plug-and-play print functionality and Internet/network fax transmission.'

The DL270's Scan to E-mail feature lets you e-mail scanned documents as attached files. The documents are converted into digital files that can be sent electronically to multiple e-mail addresses.

The Scan to File feature lets you transmit a scanned document to a specified folder. You can convert documents to PDF or TIFF formats.

The DL270 supports industry standards PCL6, PostScript 3, ASCII, TIFF, PDF and JPEG. And it offers a choice of print controllers and finishing options. Plus, dual line 33.6 Kbps fax will be available early next year.
